The irGUI allows an embedded system to create a Windows user interface on a Pocket PC using an infrared link.
The PDA asks the irGUI what controls it wants displayed and then displays them.
The user reads the display and modifies the controls as required.
The irGUI system is intended to eliminate the
need for expensive
control panel components such as LCD displays, switches, etc, while offering greater flexibility
to interact with the embedded system.
Applications include industrial control, discrete-interface consumer goods, automotive
diagnostics and
data logging.
